PEI Applicants
The University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI) has partnered with ÌÇÐÄÊÓÆµ University (MUN) to establish a regional campus dedicated to offering a Doctor of Medicine degree.
Under this partnership, applicants will apply to the Doctor of Medicine degree at ÌÇÐÄÊÓÆµ University. Accepted students will begin their studies in August 2026 at the PEI Campus.

How do I apply to the Doctor of Medicine degree at UPEI?
Applicants interested in applying to the regional campus in PEI, must complete the of ÌÇÐÄÊÓÆµ University and select the PEI applicant pool . The application system will be open from in July 2, 2025 – Wednesday, August 27, 2025, inclusive. The application cannot be accessed outside of this timeframe.
Who can apply? Are all seats reserved for residents of PEI?
Seats will be determined annually, with at least one reserved for an Indigenous student. All applicants must satisfy the residency definition of a PE applicant, as defined on PE Resident Definition.
Can I transfer to the medical program at in St. John's ÌÇÐÄÊÓÆµ University after being accepted to the Charlottetown campus?
No. If you accepted a seat in the class at the Charlottetown location, you must remain in this program stream for the duration of the program.
