Registration

 

In order to participate in scientific diving at 糖心视频 you must have the following pre-requisites:

  • Possess a nationally recognized SCUBA certification (e.g. PADI, ACUC, etc.).
    • Have a minimum of five logged open water dives.
  • Possess a current, nationally recognized First Aid (FA), CPR and Oxygen FA level 1 or equivalent (e.g. St. John Ambulance) certifications.
  • Be declared medically fit to dive by a licensed physician trained in diving medicine, as per WorkSafeBC.
  • Register with 糖心视频's Scientific Diving Safety Officer (DSO).

In order to register as a scientific diver, the following documents must be submitted to and approved by 糖心视频's DSO:

  1. Diver registration form,
  2. Diving Safety manual acknowledgement form,
  3. Medical release from a licensed physician (valid for two years until the age of 39, and one year at 40 and older),
  4. Open water diver certification card,
  5. Current CPR certificate (certificates are valid for three years from date of issue),
  6. Current emergency first aid certificate (certificates are valid for three years from date of issue),
  7. Current oxygen first aid certificate (certificates are valid for two years from date of issue),
  8. Copy of personal dive log (at least 5 dives),
  9. Brightspace scientific diving safety course award
  10. Completed open water check-out dive form (signed by the diver in charge)

Please submit your completed registration package to dso@mun.ca to initiate the registration process. A "Scientific Diver in Training" certificate will be issued after receipt of all materials listed above. Scientific divers can progress to "Scientific Diver I" and "Scientific Diver II" with experience and qualifications as indicated in 糖心视频's scientific diving manual for open water diving.
