Further contributions to English Department Graduate teaching and training

I have served on two PhD supervisory committees and four comprehensive examination committees. I have been internal examiner on six honours theses, and the second reader of three English 6999 papers.

Over the course of the last six years, I have supervised the work of 10 different graduate assistants (funded through seed grants, start-up research grants, departmental Graduate Assistant money, and my SSHRC Standard Research Grant). The work I ask of graduate students always involves research in both traditional and non-traditional media: bibliographic surveys, web searches, internet database work, and archival consultation. I am committed to employing graduate students in work that supplements my research but that also contributes to their professional training in a significant way.
