CES bookings contribute to activities supporting student innovation and entrepreneurship
Did you know that booking a conference or event with Conference & Event Services gives back to ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵ University students?
When the Battery Hotel was purchased and converted into Signal Hill Campus’ first building (Emera Innovation Exchange - EIX), a $7 million contribution from Emera Inc. was received and a unique funding model was created.
Both the contribution and funding model provides an opportunity for ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵ University to allocate a portion of the revenues from conference services to support programs and activities associated with student entrepreneurship and innovation.
A total of $400K is dispersed annually to a variety of groups throughout the University. Recipients and dollar allocations are determined by ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵ’s Innovation Steering Committee. Previous recipients include the Centre for Social Enterprise, Genesis, Grenfell Research and Innovation Centre Project and ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵ Centre for Entrepreneurship.
