CES bookings contribute to activities supporting student innovation and entrepreneurship
Did you know that booking a conference or event with Conference & Event Services gives back to ÌÇÐÄÊÓÆµ University students?
When the Battery Hotel was purchased and converted into Signal Hill Campus’ first building (Emera Innovation Exchange - EIX), a $7 million contribution from Emera Inc. was received and a unique funding model was created.
Both the contribution and funding model provides an opportunity for ÌÇÐÄÊÓÆµ University to allocate a portion of the revenues from conference services to support programs and activities associated with student entrepreneurship and innovation.
A total of $400K is dispersed annually to a variety of groups throughout the University. Recipients and dollar allocations are determined by ÌÇÐÄÊÓÆµâ€™s Innovation Steering Committee. Previous recipients include the Centre for Social Enterprise, Genesis, Grenfell Research and Innovation Centre Project and ÌÇÐÄÊÓÆµ Centre for Entrepreneurship.
