My name is Brandon Richardson and I am a Master's student (soon to be PhD) in the Bambico Lab at ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵ University. My current work focuses on investigating cannabinoid receptor 1 (CB1) and serotonin-1A (5-HT1A) pathology in animal models of schizophrenia. My planned work for my PhD will investigate the role of psychedelic compounds in neuroplasticity and its relevance to depression. My favorite thing to do outside of the lab is to fly-fish for trout and salmon.

Christiana is an undergraduate student studying Behavioural Neuroscience within the Department of Psychology at ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵ University. She takes interest in neurological disorders, particularly Alzheimer's and Parkinson’s diseases.

 

Courtney is a PhD student in the Psychology Department at ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵ University. She is currently investigating the potential preventive effects of a nutraceutical and endocannabinoid-like fatty acid amide, palmitoylethanolamide, in a translatable mouse model of schizophrenia. In her spare time, Courtney enjoys powerlifting and curling up with her cat, Benji.

Hi, I'm Derek, a second-year M.Sc. student. My research interests are channelopathies, stress-related depression, and their underlying neuromolecular mechanisms. As a fun fact, I speak French.

 

My name is Gavin Afonso. I’m an undergraduate student research assistant.

Haley is a volunteer undergraduate student in the Department of Psychology at ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵ University. She is currently completing a major in Behavioural Neuroscience with a minor in Biology.

Laura is an Undergraduate student studying Behavioural Neuroscience (Hon) in the Psychology Department at ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵ University. Her honours project focusses on chronic stress-induced cognitive dysfunction in a mouse model of depression. In her spare time, Laura sings jazz in St. John's and writes music.

Mark is a masters student in the Department of Psychology at ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵ University. His research currently focuses on the progression of cognitive and mood-related phenotypes associated with chronic depression. He loves a good hike. 

Nageeb is a PhD student in the Department of Psychology at ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵ University. His research focuses on prodromal depression in Alzheimer's disease and the role of SK channels in the disease pathology. He is called the Food Santa of the lab.

Shannon is a PhD student in the Department of Psychology at ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵ University. His work focuses on the treatment of depression using novel brain stimulation techniques. His personal life can be best described using the three C's: Comedy, Cats, and Cdoing lab work.

Hi, I’m Skylar and I am a neuroscience honours student. I’m completing my honours in the lab and I am also a volunteer. I focus on Schizophrenia, specifically its prevention, and I am working towards receiving my PhD!

Tadhg is an undergraduate student in the department of Psychology at ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵ University. He is interested in a broad range of topics, with particular interest in addiction.

Yellow is a lab coordinator for both the Bambico and Thorpe Labs within the Department of Psychology at ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵ University. Her research background involves sex differences in the brain and behaviour, with her current research lying within the fields of circadian rhythm and various psycho-affective disorders. Yellow is passionate about mind/body regulation and works to educate others via various public workshops and yoga teachings.
