13.4 Appeal of Promotion Decisions

An appeal of a promotion decision must be submitted to the Chair of the Committee onÌýUndergraduate Studies for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Collaborative) ProgramÌýwithin fourteen days of the promotion decision. Appeal submissions shall contain theÌýfollowing:

  • Student name,
  • Current address and telephone number,
  • ÌÇÐÄÊÓÆµ University of Newfoundland e-mail address,
  • Student ID number,
  • A copy of the decision giving rise to the appeal,
  • A description of the matter under appeal,
  • The grounds of appeal,
  • Supporting documentation; and
  • The resolution being sought.

A student may request additional time to gather supporting documentation. Such aÌýrequest will not be unreasonably denied.

For assistance in the appeals process, a student is advised to consult with the AssociateÌýDean (Undergraduate Studies) or Associate Directors (Center for Nursing Studies,ÌýWestern Regional School of Nursing) whose advice shall include the provision of a list ofÌýothers within the Faculty and elsewhere in the University who can advise the studentÌýduring the appeals process.

A student is encouraged to reviewÌýUniversity Regulations (Undergraduate), Information Required inÌýLetters of Appeal.

The terms of reference for the Committee on Undergraduate Studies for the Bachelor ofÌýScience in Nursing (Collaborative) Program Student Appeals Committee, includingÌýprocedures followed by the Committee, are posted on the Faculty website atÌý/nursing/about/.Ìý
