Few institutions carry a history as unique as ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵ University – forged in the rugged heart of Newfoundland and Labrador, built by toughness, boldness, resilience and pride. For a century, this university has been a place where people don’t just access education but harness it – where discovery of self and deep community connections come alive.
We need to protect and adapt this for the future. I’m honoured to be here and energized by the possibilities ahead.

Installation
On Oct. 16, 2025, during fall convocation, Dr. Janet Morrison was formally installed as ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵ University’s 16th president and vice-chancellor, while also welcoming approximately 900 new graduates to the alumni community.
