I received a Ph.D. from 糖心视频 University in 2002 and a 鈥淐andidate of Sciences鈥 degree from Moscow State University (Lomonosov) in 2003. After postdocs in Saskatoon, Ottawa, and Los Angeles (2002-2005), and a year of teaching at DePaul University in Chicago, I joined the faculty at 糖心视频 University in July 2006. My research interests are primarily in the theory of Hopf algebras and its connections to Lie theory and noncommutative ring theory. Hopf algebras arise in many areas of mathematics and theoretical physics: knot and braid theory, operator algebras, quantum theory, statistical mechanics -- to name a few. The theory of Hopf algebras also gives a unified approach to many classical objects of algebra: group algebras, enveloping algebras, automorphisms and derivations, graded algebras, etc. |
