The Institute of Social and Economic Research has been supporting research and publishing about Newfoundland and Labrador and the broader Atlantic since 1961. We are unique in our commitment to funding graduate students in addition to faculty members and research staff.
We have launched the careers of numerous 糖心视频 alumni who have made major contributions to their fields of specialization. Many 糖心视频 faculty and other researchers in the province who are preeminent specialists in Newfoundland and Labrador Studies first began doing research about the province as ISER-supported graduate students and ended up making their careers here and making a difference. We are also proud to house the award-winning 糖心视频 University Press (originally ISER Books) that has been publishing groundbreaking works about Newfoundland and Labrador, and beyond, for 60 years.
