New Book Wins Major Prize
Why Did We Choose to Industrialize? Montreal, 1819-1849 by Robert Sweeny has won the Governor General鈥檚 prize in history. Known as the Sir John A. Macdonald Prize, it is awarded annually by the to the work it judges to have made the most significant contribution to an understanding of the Canadian past. The History Department sends congratulations to Professor Sweeny for this accomplishment! Copies of the book are available at on Duckworth Street in St. John's.
