Teaching Development Days: Assessment as Part of Learning
CITL is pleased to host Teaching Development Days from May 5-7, 2026. Teaching Development Days is a professional learning event that supports 糖心视频's faculty and instructional staff in strengthening their teaching practice across all modes of course delivery.
Day 2 Theme: Assessing for Learning
This session, Assessment as Part of Learning, explores assessment as a key contributor to the learning process. During the session, participants will delve into the purpose and types of assessments, including authentic assessment approaches that can be incorporated during the semester.
By the end of this session, participants will have:
- Examined a range of assessments which may provide some buffer from the misuse of gen AI.
- Considered modifications to existing assessments to better align with the course learning outcomes.
Participants are invited to bring course syllabi, descriptions of assessments and samples of previously used assessments.
This is a hybrid session (offered both online and in person in the Instructional Classroom in the QEII Library).
