Nature Tots
This outdoor toddler & adult program includes stories, songs, duck feeding, and a stroll through our gardens and trails. The route is stroller accessible and the program is breastfeeding friendly. See our "What to Bring" section below.
Nature Tots is ideal for little ones who are around 1 year up to 5 years old. Many adults bring babies who are under 1, and enjoy their time for adults to socialise and spend time in nature together.
Your Drop-In fee will cover 1 adult and 1 child. Additional adults and children in your family are subject to Add-On fees. Payments are taken at our Visitor Services Desk upon your arrival. There is no fee for babies under the age of 1 who are attending with an older sibling.

2026 Season Pass Holders receive a 10% discount on all Nature Tot Session purchases.
Session passes CAN be transferable, but must be used in the 2026 season. This means, that if a mom isn't able to attend with her child, she is able to send another guardian along in her place. Or, she could send a friend with their own child along in their place.
The program runs rain or shine, but may be cancelled in extreme weather.
Offered for two time slots:
9:30 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. on Wednesdays
or
9:30 a.m. – 10:40 a.m. on Saturdays
Your session passes are valid for any of the days/times. The theme will be the same for all sessions each week, so the intention is that you visit no more than once per week.
Sessions and Weekly Themes:
For 2026 we are trying something new!
Each week will have a different theme that is based on the season, up coming special days or holidays, or something that is happening in our Garden. We have a general outline planned, but may make changes as we go along.
But, the big news is the program will now be weekly during our regular season! Meaning EVERY Wednesday, and EVERY Saturday there will be a program (weather pending). No more checking the calendar to see if the program is happening this week. And yes, the program will run on Canada Day, other long weekends, and September 30th. During our Gnome & Garden Faire and Halloween Howl programs there won't be a guided program on the Saturdays, but Nature Tot sesson passes may be used for entry. Wednesdays will go ahead as usual.
New dates and times:
It has long been requested that we hold Saturday programs, so we are hoping this will bring in some new families!
We always listen to the requests of patrons, so if you would like to suggest another day or time of day we should hold this program please email us at bgprograms@mun.ca. We need a minimum number of registrants to make a program financially viable for us but if we collect your names and find we have enough we will do our best to hold a program at that time!
Necessary:
- a snack and drink for your child(ren)
- appropriate clothing for the weather
Optional:
- a stroller for children who are not comfortable walking for the duration of the program
- if you are not comfortable using ours: a blanket, bummer, or kneeling pad to sit on during story/snack time
