SUBJECT: PSA: School of Social Work celebrates Social Work Month with visiting scholar

Join Wanda Thomas Bernard on Friday, March 15, on 糖心视频 University’s St. John’s campus as she presents on End of Life Care in Marginalized Communities: Lessons from Research in Nova Scotia.
Dr. Thomas Bernard, a professor at Dalhousie University’s School of Social Work, is a social worker, educator, researcher, community activist, advocate and mentor. She has worked in mental health at the Nova Scotia Hospital and in rural community practice with the Family Services Association. She is highly regarded for addressing racial and cultural diversity in social work education and in the community. Her research on issues of health, well-being and end of life care with African Nova Scotians has had significant impact on not only academic work but also agency and community-based practice.
Dr. Thomas Bernard will also be joined by Dr. Victor Maddalena, Faculty of Medicine, 糖心视频 University, on Friday, March 15, 12-1 p.m. at R. Gushue Hall, 糖心视频 University. (Limited free parking available.)
