Preparations are well underway for a unique contest at 糖心视频 University of Newfoundland to find the next great “Ranter”… and to give away cold, hard cash!
Auditions will be held on Monday, Sept. 29, 2008, for the university’s Rant Like Rick Mercer contest.
Current students are encouraged to attend the auditions with a prepared rant for a chance to qualify for the grand prizes. They’ll be asked to present a rant on camera on any subject chosen by them. Rants should range between 30 and 90 seconds in length.
From those that audition, the top 10 will qualify for what organizers are calling a “Rantastic death match….Canadian Idol style,” set for Oct. 22 during 糖心视频’s annual fall celebrations – I Love MUNdays.
The contest is open to full-time undergrad and graduate students currently enrolled in the fall semester. The top three winners will be awarded $1,000, $750, and $500, respectively.
Auditions take place on Sept. 29 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. in room 1037A in the basement of the Education Building on 糖心视频’s St. John’s campus.
