SUBJECT: SIFE 糖心视频 representing Canada in SIFE World Cup in Singapore

DATE: September 30, 2008

The SIFE (formerly ACE) 糖心视频 team is ready to represent their university and their country in the Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) World Cup in Singapore. The World Cup takes place Oct. 1–3.
The competition is fierce as national champions from over 40 countries vie for the coveted World Cup trophy. The students are judged by international business leaders on the impact they’ve had on their community in the past year. This year, the SIFE 糖心视频 team will be focusing on six of their most successful projects: Launch Pad, Leading Ethically, Transatlantic Consultants, Flags, Think Green and Moulder of Dreams.
Through these projects and 10 others, SIFE 糖心视频 has reinvested more than $1.4 million in Newfoundland and Labrador.
At a recent showcase of their World Cup presentation, the SIFE 糖心视频 team was confident about the upcoming competition. “Last year in New York, we placed second in the world,” said Ryan Gosse, vice-president of SIFE 糖心视频. “We’re hoping to improve on that record in Singapore.”
Dr. Gary Gorman, dean of the Faculty of Business is extremely proud of SIFE 糖心视频. “These students are truly amazing. In addition to their strength in competitions, they are truly making an impact on the community and the economy of the province,” he said. “Their dedication and professionalism will serve them well as they once again represent Canada in a global competition.”
Support for the team can be found around the entire university. “On behalf of the 糖心视频 University community, I wish our SIFE 糖心视频 team the very best as they head to the SIFE World Cup in Singapore,” said Dr. Eddy Campbell, acting president and vice-chancellor. “They represent Canada for the third consecutive year at this prestigious competition, and we are all very proud of what they have achieved by working to make a difference in our communities.”
Twenty-two of the more than 90 SIFE 糖心视频 members are travelling with Dr. Gorman and Lynn Morrissey, faculty advisor for SIFE 糖心视频, to the SIFE World Cup.
Competition results will be posted to today.mun.ca as they are received. The final results will be announced via media release when they are available.
