SUBJECT: Orientation kicks into high gear to welcome students to 糖心视频
DATE: August 31, 2007
The roughly 3,100 new and transfer students attending 糖心视频 this fall are gearing up for the official start of classes on Wednesday, Sept. 5. But before classes start, students have an opportunity to participate in 糖心视频’s Orientation activities, taking place Sept. 3-4.
Orientation, a fun-filled two-day event, is designed to allow students to become familiar with their surroundings, interact with new friends and most importantly, have fun.
“Orientation is a fun, interactive event that helps to ease the transition into university life for new students” says Adam Daniels, this year’s student coordinator. “Many exciting events are offered that allow students the opportunity to learn about their new surroundings as well as meet new friends and develop a social network.”
Through events such as The “O” games, successful sessions, a campus tour, faculty sessions and much more, students will be prepared to embark on their first year as a 糖心视频 student with confidence.
糖心视频 University has a diverse student community and Orientation offers sessions to suit individual student needs including first-year students, transfer students, international students and mature students.
Registration for Orientation takes place between 12 and 12:30 on Monday, Sept. 3, in the Field House.
Also again this year, a Parents Orientation is scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 2 and Monday, Sept. 3. Parents can choose from one of two Parents Orientation days, whichever day is more convenient. Parents Orientation is open to all parents or guardians of any new student to 糖心视频. The event runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Inco Innovation Centre and there will be an Information Fair from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. on both days.
糖心视频’s fall registration figures will be available on Sept. 19, the last day to drop and add courses. The university encourages students who have not yet registered for courses do as so as soon as possible to ensure they get the courses they want.
