Wellness Navigator, Labrador Campus

Norma joined the Labrador Campus as the Wellness Navigator, where she supports students through health promotion, counselling, accessing supports and building strategies to support their overall well-being.

Having graduated from 糖心视频 University with a bachelor of nursing in 2003, she is currently completing a master's in adult education and health. Norma's work is grounded in a student-centred, relational approach that recognizes wellness as shaped by both individual and systemic factors. She is passionate about fostering a campus culture that recognizes wellness as a shared responsibility.

Norma has lived and worked in Labrador for nearly two decades. Having come to Labrador and fallen in love with the land, she brings a deep respect for place and community to her work. Her professional background includes extensive experience in community health nursing, primarily working alongside First Nations communities. This work has shaped her commitment to culturally respectful, community-informed and accessible approaches to well-being.

In addition to her professional roles, Norma has been actively involved in community and volunteer work, including with the Mokami Status of Women Council and Valley Danceworks Inc. In her spare time, she enjoys skiing, gardening, creating new recipes, and spending time with her daughter and two rescue dogs.
