Main Brook - Traditional Craft Skills
George Elliott is a resident of Main Brook who has been making steamed birch snowshoes since he was a young boy. This is a skill that very few people practice anymore due to how time-consuming the process is. He is also a boatbuilder-- a practice he has had to give up in recent years. Now in his 80s, George has long-since perfected his various craft skills and is eager to share his knowledge. Here George talks about, alongside what life has been like on the Northern Peninsula.
