Jessica Besaw, a chemistry master’s student co-supervised by our Dr. Valerie Booth, has won a prestigious Julie Payette-Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) research scholarship.  See the article  for further details.

Winners of the Campus Food Bank’s 12 Days of Giving food drive were announced mid-July.  We collected the most food of any department participating in this drive.  This is our seventh consecutive time winning this prize, a result of the great giving spirit here in the department.  The prize is a coffee break for participants, and we expect we’ll hold that in the fall when people are back from summer holidays.
