- (HREA): Dr. Basset is a member of the Health Research Ethics Authority. HREA members ensure the ethical and scientific acceptability of health research involving human subjects conducted by researchers, physicians, faculty, students, and members of health agencies with participants living in Newfoundland and Labrador.
- : Dr. Basset is a member of the ISAFA board. He is providing expertise on environmental physiology, cardiorespiratory, and metabolic responses to exercise, and sport performance. He also acts as a reviewer for ISAFA.
