Research Project Description:

Mapping marine biodiversity and conservation of the traditional waters of Miawpukek First Nations in Bay d鈥橢spoir. Multibeam Sonar in addition to other sampling techniques such as CDT profiles and Van Veen Grabs will be used to map the seafloor and describe the marine environment. Working in collaboration with the Miawpukek First Nations Peoples of Conne River we aim to map traditional knowledge of the area which will give us insight on the unique relationship between Indigenous peoples and the land on which they live on.
