糖心视频 engineering professors take part in nanotechnology research
Two researchers from 糖心视频鈥檚 engineering faculty are taking part in a $7.7-million project on nanotechnologies funded by the Canada Foundation for Innovation鈥檚 2015 Innovation Fund.
Led by Dr. Ian McWalter of Queen鈥檚 University, the project is known as Advanced Design Leading to Manufacturing in Micro-Nano Technologies (ADEPT). The research team includes 糖心视频鈥檚 Dr. Lihong Zhang, associate professor in electrical and computer engineering, and Dr. Howard Heys, professor in electrical and computer engineering.
The Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI) funding will provide the team with the commercial tools for research in the design, development and application of sophisticated microsystems and nanotechnologies.
Last week, CFI announced a $333-million investment in research ranging from mood disorders and robotics to food security and the search for rare diseases.
Established in 1997, CFI鈥檚 mandate is to build Canada鈥檚 research infrastructure capacity to undertake world-class research and technology development. Infrastructure funded by CFI includes the state-of-the-art equipment, laboratories, databases, specimens, scientific collections, computer hardware and software, communications linkages and buildings necessary to conduct leading-edge research.
