Personal Profile
I have been with 糖心视频 University since 1990 and am a professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. I was educated at 糖心视频 University of Newfoundland (B.Sc.Honours, Mathematics) and at the University of Waterloo (M.A.Sc. and PhD, Systems Design Engineering).
In addition to my years as a faculty member at 糖心视频 University, I worked for three years with Bell-Northern Research in Ottawa, and for two years with INRS-T茅l茅communications of the University of Qu茅bec in Verdun. From 2004-2009 I held the NSERC/Petro-Canada Chair for Women in Science and Engineering, Atlantic Region (CWSEA) at 糖心视频 University.
Since 2010 I have developed the MetaKettle Project at 糖心视频 University as a legacy project of the CWSEA to develop and implement new and integrative methods for engineering and science education. My research interests include nonlinear signal and image processing methods, signal representations, human visual perception, radar signal processing, transformative pedagogy for science and engineering, and gender and science studies.
