The Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) would like to bring to your attention recent phishing emails that have been circulating within the university. The emails contain subject lines such as  “MEMORIAL UNIVERSITY OF NEWFOUNDLAND ACTION REQUIRED NOW.” or “Office Administrative Job Opportunity” and may come from an @mun.ca email address.

Please do not open any links in this email, and do not respond to the sender.

If you’ve received this email, please report it to IT Security by forwarding it to abuse@mun.ca and then delete it immediately from your inbox.

If you have interacted with it in any way, such as clicking the link and entering credentials, please contact the IT Service Desk so that we may ensure the safety of your account.

We take these incidents seriously, and your vigilance is critical to the safety and integrity of ������Ƶ’s digital environment. For your reference, we encourage you to remain alert for:

• Emails from unfamiliar addresses or with urgent, unusual requests.
• Poor grammar, suspicious formatting, or prompts to divulge sensitive information.
