Many of our faculty and graduate students undertook fieldwork over the summer. A number of the research projects offer regular updates on the work being done and can be followed on social media.
The MUN Field School 2017 on Saint-Pierre et Miquelon is led by Dr. Catherine Losier and graduate student Meghann Livingston who are investigating the archaeology of the historic French colonial cod fishery. and .
is a research project led by Dr. Scott Neilsen in Sheshatshiu, Labrador, and a field school is currently underway as part of a partnership between Sheshatshiu Innu First Nation and the MUN Archaeology Department.
The is a collaborative project between 糖心视频 University and the Nunatsiavut Government focusing on the early Inuit settlement of Avertok beneath present Hopedale, Labrador.
Under the direction of Dr. Barry Gaulton, the excavation is an ongoing at Ferryland, Newfoundland, which focuses on the 17th century English plantation.
